      Materials and methods. This was a cross-sectional study conducted in emergency departments and health clinics in Selangor, one of the states in Malaysia. Questionnaire forms eliciting information about knowledge, attitude and practice towards disaster management were randomly distributed to nurses working at the aforementioned clinics.   A disaster is an unplanned event in which the needs of the affected community outweigh the available resources. A disaster occurs somewhere in the world almost daily, but these events vary considerably in scope, size, and context.
